Ms. Murphy is a transactional attorney who has practiced in many areas surrounding real estate and contract law, including contract negotiation, strict property law issues, trusts and estates, leasing and real estate settlements. For 9 years, Ms. Murphy oversaw both the Real Estate and Relocation Departments at the law firm of DuFour & Orens, Chartered. Additionally, she was a Partner in Certified Closing Network, a vendor management company providing attorney, title and escrow services in all 50 states to national clients such as relocation companies, REO asset management companies and the lending community. Ms. Murphy received her B.A. cum laude in International Studies and French from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. She spent her junior year studying at the International University in Grenoble, France, and still attempts to speak French on the rare occasion. Thereafter, she received her J.D. from The Catholic University of America, during which she clerked for such agencies as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the International Trade Commission. Since joining the Murphy Business and Financial Corporation family in 2007, Ms. Murphy now concentrates her time as President of MBFC – Delmar, the regional entity managing the Murphy business in both Maryland and Delaware. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County. She is a licensed Maryland real estate broker, specializing in commercial real estate in order to best serve the Murphy clients. Ms. Murphy is a native Marylander, having grown up in Anne Arundel County. In 1995 she relocated to Montgomery County, and manages the business from her main office in Bethesda, MD. She currently resides with her husband, Dan, and 2 daughters, Fiona and Nora, in Olney, Maryland. She is an avid sports fan, especially baseball and basketball. She also enjoys music, travel and politics in her free time.
