Description
Matthew FitzGibbon has a diverse background of experience in business operations, transactions, and commercial real estate. For the past 12 years, Matthew has been the Managing Partner of a closely held private equity group. His responsibilities include analysis of investment opportunities, placement of funds, monitoring of performance through participation on advisory boards, and securities and liquidity management. One of the boards he serves on has guided the construction/development or renovation of over a dozen lodging properties, mostly with Marriott and Hilton flags. He is also invested in multiple private equity partnerships with the defined purpose of growing manufacturing and distribution companies through capital injection and management expertise. He also manages investments in the natural gas drilling industry and oversees a commodities fund.
Simultaneously to managing the private equity group, Matthew has also served as an intermediary and business consultant as President of Central Florida Business Transactions, Inc. for the past 4 years. He has served as an intermediary and consultant during this time on a diverse range of transactions including restaurants, printing companies, manufacturing companies, franchises, retail stores, and educational providers. He has also negotiated multiple retail and office leases for business clients.
Prior to his work as an intermediary and business consultant, Matthew was involved in the purchase and sale of several of his own businesses. Matthew provided leadership through all phases of start-up, budgeting, forecasting, and marketing for Pure Music, LLC. Pure Music was an advertising jingle house in Chicago, Illinois that did scoring for the History Channel and the A&E Network as well as television commercials for Coca-Cola and ADM. He sold this business when moving to Orlando where he purchased Stanley, Inc., a distributor of golf and custom utility vehicles. After instituting sales and marketing initiatives and developing new avenues for growth, he sold the business 18 months later with sales on target to triple in only its second year under his leadership. Matthew has also started a not-for-profit entity in Cleveland, Ohio that ensures inner-city children receive adequate healthcare and immunizations and which serves as a liaison between hospitals and government offices.
Matthew has a bachelor's degree in business finance and management from the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate and former assistant instructor of the Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Speaking and Human Relations. He has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He has also earned his Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association and has completed all five core courses of the CCIM Institute.
Matthew has served as adjunct faculty to a local community college where he has taught classes in Personal Finance and Marketing. He also serves as Chairman of Orange County's Board for the Division of Youth and Family Services and is an active leader in community initiatives, his children's school , and the Orlando Church of Christ.
